Wood(2-7) was very good in the win. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 4 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings reducing his ERA from 4.61 to 4.34. Dart had 9 hits overall, while Tombstone had 5. Wood got relief help from Eric Gagne who gained credit for his 25th save. Carlos Silva(11-3) was charged with the loss. When asked about his strikeout total for the game, Wood offered, 'The fan's really got into it. It is fun to see them tally up the strikeout totals up there in the stands. Fortunately, I kept them busy this afternoon - of course, it would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
